Research was compiled at the SIGB Ski Test in Saalbach, Austria. I spent the week talking to ski reps, pairing pro skiiers such as Andy Bennett and Dave Young and editorial staff with skis to test, and compiling results on excel sheets. I also tested a few pairs myself, of course...
Back in the office, I turned all this data into reviews of 250 pairs of planks, penned intros to different types of skis, wrote articles on developments in ski graphics and structure, plotted a ski boot positioniser graph (don't ask), pestered experts to write about things I couldn't, et voila a 90 page guide to all things ski ... more

Similarly, research for this guide took place in Kaneurtal, Austria, at the annual snowboard test. Back at the office I, and the Doc staff, completed the mammoth task of making all that info into sensical words to help you choose the right kit.
